I love places like this. When I was 5 years old, I lived in Noti, OR. It was a town of 50 people. I don't think there are that many here, but maybe.

First water, then trees, then Crown King and some much needed gas. They say these T-dubs get 80mpg, but on this trail, I got 40.

More water, and even a waterfall.
Water had eroded a big chunk out of the road here.

Along the way I crossed a stream or two. When you live in AZ and see water flowing at the end of summer and no recent rains, you know there is a live spring somewhere. I suppose it will always amaze me that there can be water where the temps often reach 115-120.

All of these pictures were taken at various places along the trail to Crown King.

I set the cruise at 83 and rode the left lane all of the way from Tucson to Phoenix. I got a few looks from the state police, but wasn't pulled over.
On Thursday, I finished my handiman work early so I decided to ride the Wing to Tucson and check out this Yamaha TW 200. It is a 1989 model and in excellent condition.
